(Hong Kong, March 28, 2025) — In support of China’s Traditional Chinese Medicine (“TCM”) revitalization strategy and the Greater Bay Area’s TCM development plan, Tianda Institute and the Modern Educational Research Society have jointly launched the “Little TCM Doctor®” program. This initiative brings TCM into Hong Kong’s primary and secondary schools through interactive, hands-on learning.

Bridging Tradition and Innovation
The “Little TCM Doctor®” program aligns closely with the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area TCM Hub Development Plan and Hong Kong’s Blueprint for the Development of Chinese Medicine. The program introduces students to TCM history, basic theories, medicinal herbs, and wellness practices. Activities like crafting herbal sachets and making hawthorn pills make learning fun and engaging, sparking students’ interest in traditional medicine.
The program has already been piloted in several schools in Hong Kong where it has received enthusiastic responses. Students have not only gained basic TCM knowledge but also developed a scientific understanding of health.

Deepening Collaboration and Building Sustainable Ecosystem
Tianda Institute and the Modern Educational Research Society will continue refining the program based on school feedback, with plans to gradually expand its reach to benefit more primary and secondary schools across Hong Kong. Looking ahead, the program aims to leverage the Greater Bay Area’s resources to foster collaboration with schools in mainland China, promote cross-border TCM cultural exchange activities, and support the integrated development of TCM across the region. In addition, the project team will actively align with the Hong Kong Education Bureau’s directions on STEAM and Life Education by developing interdisciplinary teaching resources and exploring the feasibility of incorporating TCM knowledge into school-based curricula, injecting new elements into Hong Kong’s diversified education landscape.

Nurturing New Generation of TCM Cultural Ambassadors
The program is to cultivate a new generation of youth equipped with TCM literacy, integrating the wisdom of traditional medicine into modern life. Tianda Institute and the Modern Educational Research Society hope that through continued school outreach and social collaboration, the program will contribute to building a talent pipeline for TCM development in Hong Kong and the broader Greater Bay Area, while also strengthening young people’s sense of identity and pride in China’s rich cultural heritage.
